Terang - Christmas Album

"Aku ingin membagikan sebuah terang untuk istri tercinta, keluarga dan sahabat dan siapapun yang mempunyai spirit pembaruan untuk menjadi jawaban dan harapan bagi siapapun, kapanpun dan dimanapun." – Glenn Fredly

Glenn Fredly seakan tak pernah lelah berkarya. Darah dan napasnya selalu ia curahkan untuk cinta. Semenjak kemunculannya bersama Funk Section kemudian merilis debut albumnya Glenn (1998) hingga kegemilangan album Selamat Pagi, Dunia! (2003) yang menyabet Triple Platinum Award, Glenn seakan haus akan kreasi dan prestasi. Di tahun 2006 ini, Glenn Fredly telah merilis sebuah album bernuansakan Jazz, Aku & Wanita dan mendapat respon positif. Penghujung tahun 2006 dan juga bertepatan dengan momen Natal, Glenn ingin membagi kebahagiaan lewat sebuah album bernuansakan christmas dengan album bertajuk Terang.

Kali ini Glenn mengangkat karya-karya rohani yang abadi dari rentang waktu tahun 40-an hingga 90-an. Lagu-lagu ini Glenn bawakan dengan apik dan diberi sentuhan warna khas Glenn Fredly sehingga menjadikan suasana Natal akan semakin syahdu. Dengar saja sebuah lagu berjudul "Gita Surga Bergema" yang dibawakan dalam nuansa upbeat dan riuh akan tabuhan drum. Selain itu juga ada lagu seperti "Dari Pulau Dan Benua" dan "White Christmas" yang bakal membuat Natal makin syahdu.

Glenn tak hanya menawarkan lagu-lagu lama, disamping lagu tersebut juga telah dilahirkan kembali dalam nuansa baru, Glenn juga menuliskan satu buah lagu baru untuk album ini. Lagu berjudul "Terang" menjadi sebuah lagu yang mempunyai visi untuk membangun cinta kasih dan perdamaian di antara seluruh umat manusia di muka bumi ini. Cukup dalam pesan yang ingin Glenn sampaikan lewat lagu yang diaransemen oleh Irwan Simanjuntak.

Penggarapan album ini melibatkan sejumlah musisi-musisi handal. Disini ada Oni Krisnerwinto yang mengaransemen paduan sesi Horn di lagu "Hai Mari Berhimpun", ada pula Barry Likumahuwa yang sentuhan bassnya terasa kental, sedangkan beat perkusi di lagu Rejoz 'The Groove', Andre Dinuth, Nikky Manuputty, Sandy Winarta, Benny Likumahuwa dan sebagainya. Tak ketinggalan pula arranger Irwan Simanjuntak dan Barry Likumahuwa memberikan sentuhan manis di lagu-lagu dalam album Terang ini.

Kolaborasi Glenn tak hanya disitu, Glenn mengajak sahabat-sahabatnya untuk berduet juga. Penampilan Rio Febrian berduet dengan Glenn membawakan lagu "Malam Kudus" menambah khusyuk suasana Natal. Lagu "Go Tell It On The Mountain" dibawakan berduet dengan Edo Kondologit dengan irama Reggae. Glenn juga mengajak Dewi Sandra untuk mengisi vokal latar pada lagu "Have Yourself A Marry Little Christmas". Tak ketinggalan juga PASTO berduet dilagu "This Christmas" dan RED yang tampil dilagu "Hai Mari Berhimpun" membuat album ini terasa spesial.

Nyari-nyari di disctarra dkk ga nemu-nemu ternyata di pondok pujian jualnya...Amen....
